GigaDevice GD25 NOR Flash GD25Q64E In Stock

GigaDevice GD25Q64ESIG 64 Mbit (8 MB) 3V SPI NOR Flash, Dual and Quad SPI, 133 MHz, in an SOP8 208mil package.

The GD25Q64ESIG is a GigaDevice GD25Q64E 64 Mbit (8 MB) 3V serial NOR Flash memory in an SOP8 208mil package. It doubles the density of the GD25Q32E in the same footprint, which suits a design that stores a larger firmware image, a graphics or a font set or a modest file system alongside the boot code. It supports the Standard SPI, Dual SPI and Quad SPI interfaces and reaches a 133 MHz clock for a fast read, and its uniform 4 KB sector and 32 KB and 64 KB block architecture keep the erase and the update simple. The device includes software and hardware write protection, top and bottom block protection, security registers with one-time-programmable locks and a 128-bit unique ID, and it offers at least 100,000 program and erase cycles with a data retention of 20 years. The 8 MB density is a very common choice for a jump forward from a 4 MB part without changing the board, because the pinout and the package are compatible. Typical applications include MCU and SoC boot code, firmware and configuration storage, execute-in-place code, FPGA configuration and small file systems. Every device BeiLuo ships is factory-traceable and includes an import declaration, a certificate of origin and a RoHS compliance file. Our FAE team helps you choose the density and plan the in-place execution and the layout.

FAE Professional Review

The GD25Q64ESIG is the density most customers step up to when 4 MB runs short, and because the package and the pinout match the smaller part it is a drop-in change. The Quad SPI read and the 133 MHz clock keep the code fetch fast, and the security registers suit a secure-boot scheme. Keep the layout and the decoupling as for the rest of the family.

Frequently Asked Questions

What projects suit the GD25Q64ESIG?

It suits a design that needs about 8 MB for a larger firmware image, a graphics or a font set or a modest file system alongside the boot code, and it is a drop-in change from the 4 MB part because the package and the pinout match.

Can I keep the same board as the 4 MB part?

Yes. The GD25Q64E shares the SOP8 208mil package and the pinout with the GD25Q32E, so the board does not change when you increase the density within the family.

Our FAE team can confirm the compatibility.
